A New Wii Item So I can eat Holiday foods.

Well I decided with the holidays coming I would get on board the Wii Fit train. So while out I eyed the new Wii Fit EA Active 2. This one has a heart monitor with it. Now that great for me. No more guessing is my heart rate within the target range. Now with all those extra Holiday delights , I can enjoy and just increase the Exercise to maintain the weight.

Wii is a good gift to ask Santa for! It is like having your own trainer when you want them. Even though there are fun games to play, it offers much more. Being able the change it up to be a personal trainer is a plus. Making it a better choice when it come to purchasing electronic games devices.

We purchase the Wii system a couple years ago for Christmas. We loved the Bowling and other games. Then I purchase a Wii Board last year. I like playing the Balancing games.
With the Wii I am able to do....
  • Skiing, now I can do those high jumps and not end up in a Body cast.
  • Skate boarding ,which I would never be able to do, with out breaking a few bones, if not for the Wii.
  • Then there is surfing, I always wanted to do that, only in the water I would probably take in too much water and never be able to stay on that board. Not to mention the concussion I would get from the board hitting me repeatedly.
So as you can see I can do all those thing on my Bucket list without leaving my Family Room! Oh yeah now that's the life. I know it will only be time before we see the 3D version, making it seem like you are really there! Now that's worth waiting for.

Getting Fit with the Wii.

Here we are after Two weekends of Pizza and Birthday cake....I think that Wii board is calling me.
We purchased the board last year. Have to admit I like it. It's the only way I can skateboard, snowboard and skiing downhill with out being killed or breaking bones. I really love the balance games. My favorite is the one where you balance the balls and move slightly to drop them through the holes to different levels. with each level you get more balls added. the music makes it more intense with each level. Just don't be standing by me when I get to the higher levels, it can get wild!

While out shopping for presents we spotted a riser for the board. Thinking of getting one, anyone have a riser? I like doing stepping with the board. Jillian Michaels has a fitness Wii DVD. She is the trainer on The Biggest Loser. Notice she uses the step riser in her program. I think I'll get a better workout with the stepper riser. Now I do not have her DVD. Have Wii Fit, Wii fit plus and EA-Active. These keep me busy. Does any one have Jillian's DVD?

I like to use the Wii to exercise because you never get bored, there are always different mimis helping you along. I have several, Jesus (He keeps me honest), Chuck Norris( Oh he's the Guru of fitness), My Dad (you know when dad's there,it must be done), and my family and their friends (now that is just to feel young again). I need to add some more, Who do you have on your Wii team? Or who would you like to have on that team?

Sleepless in Maryland...

Some time I have these sleepless nights. this is one one those nights! Yesterday I started not feeling well.Think Hubby gave me his cold. I am drinking antioxidants and sucking zinc. Hope that will do the trick and shorten the time.
Yesterday I started the EA Sports 30 day challenge, boy I didn't know how it worked. I made it through the first day routine, not too bad. Each day I will be given a different routine that way I will not get bored, so they say. My trainer is female although I think at some point I would like the male, I wonder if I can change that?
Now I need to find a good food plan. I am a member of Sparks People, they have a menu plan. I think I will try a low carb for a while. At least til I can get on the downward spiral. I really do not like to do those types of diet plans, because they tend to always end up in failure. Learning how to eat within the caloric level is the best way to maintain your weight, in my eyes. I was raised on good wholesome food and would like to continue that way. Although as one ages the body tends to change the way it processes food. I am hoping by working out with the EA sports and controlling my caloric intake I will slim down. We'll see how it works.

Holiday Baggage

Oh that holiday baggage we pack and carry. This holiday season I packed an extra 5 pound in my bag. I believe that is the average amount one picks up during the holidays. Now with the New Year is here and we need to unpack it. My feeling is it will take about two week to get it off. Yes of course one can lose 10 pound in a couple of days. However that is mostly water weight and really doesn't count. I need to loose that fat weight.

So off to the Wii I will go...Then down with the Pilates. Finally out to the treadmill.

With all the friends working on the Wii, I should have lots of support. I might even add some new mimi's to my circle. I heard one can add some cartoon characters, roadrunner might push me along. Do you Wii, Pilates,or treadmill? Let me know, so I can follow your blog.

I am getting on the Wii again. Yes it is time to get back in the Wii game. Got a new trainer and now I feel it is time to start back up. Exercising has not be a steady thing for me. It seems like I have all these home helps but finding the time is so hard. Will need to set aside a time for 30 minutes of some sort of exercising. The ice and rain makes it hard to walk out doors but I guess I could use the Wii and treadmill for that. So here I go, I'm adding 30 minutes of aerobic work to my daily routine.

Fitness Friday- Wii Fit Family

The family is all active on the Wii Fit. Daughter is on the last Quarter of Health. They have to Log all their food and exercise. Hubby is working with SparkPeople so he is exercising and logging food and I am also logging and exercising. This means the whole household is in tune, Finally! I like this because it has been a struggle to plan meals and deal with complaints about no desserts.
Did well this week lost 2 pounds. Weigh-In for me are Wednesday on this blog (see upper right- side bar).
Has anyone had a family member have a birthday while doing the Wii Fit? It was a shock when I turn on the Wii on heard " ... did you know Capt D has a birthday today,....do something special for him....". I just had to laugh the Wii reminding me. So ,when hubby came home I had him do his Wii fit. When he logged in (I wanted to see what it would do for him), there was a birthday party on the Wii..What a riot. Streamers and all. We went out to eat at The Outback. We only go once a year. We all enjoyed the Wii birthday celebration!

Fitness Friday -Need Another Wii Day

You know that phase " Not enough Days in the Week". That's how I feel. The days just flew by. Was up early 05:30 every day. Even did most of my household chores early. Just do not know what happened. It must have been the Sandman,he put me in a trance. Do not know what happened between the start and end . It's all a Blur!!! Heard the Wii calling the first part of the Week, then grew a deaf ear. Now here I am at the end of the week. Blogging about the week. Did I loose weight? Well I maintain the weight from last Friday. However, did beat my daughter in most of the activities. I really do not like this competition going on between us. Will have to get over it!! So, this week I will not let that Sandman control my drive. I will Wii every day in the morning before starting my household chores. Will not get on this computer before I Wii. So my plan is to get a protein bar and play Wii Fit at 5:30 am. That will give me 30 minutes before the household gets up. Now can anyone tell me how to log Bowling and tennis time on the Wii Fit Time Log?
New info on Logging extra exercise to Wii Log. thank you Cynthia

If I Could Blog Back Time-Thursdays

Lola's Dinner Is starting a If I could Blog Back Time-Thursdays link. I got to thinking how I could do that on my Get fit site. A Word came to my mind,Bowling. During the 60's I lived in Rochester New York, we had a bowling alley up the street.Bowling was big ,there were leagues. One could sign up for a league at the alley. Bowlers with they league shirts were all around. Remember the Lavern and Shirley TV show.

My middle brother and I would walk or ride our bikes to the alley. I Loved Bowling. Was pretty good at it. My brother was a competitor. Boy did we have some tough games. I will have to say he won a lot, and never would let me forget it. When I won, which wasn't much, he would give some excuse. Maybe his arm was tired or he wasn't feeling good. He even join one of those league, so he could get better. Even talked me into joining a league. Saturday was league day. Those are good memories. Now I am sure I can beat him at Wii bowling!! He doesn't even know how to Wii!.I will have to "blog back time" and get him to play at my Wii Bowling Alley.

Fitness Friday -Off the Track

I haven't been active on the Wii as I should be. It did show, gained 1 lb. That is not bad, could be water gain or that extra bread I had. My daughter got the Wii Fit Bug. Thinks she is in competition with me. Not liking that. Hey, I haven't been a teen in 38 years!!! Running up to me to announce her hula hoop score,if I had a body like hers I could swing my hips like her. As I posted earlier this week I added some new characters and it is creepy to see the Lord running and Stepping with me. Adds a new meaning to the Lord is your Friend and guide. Why did I let them talk me into downloading that Mii? I can't just delete the LORD, it wouldn't be right!!Oh well I know he wants me to be fit. This is a new week. I Will Wii 30 minutes each day. I wrote (typed, Blogged) it down. Need to be reminded every day. Maybe one of my readers can remind me each day.I need outside support. Help......

We all laughed so hard. How could she tell!! everyone asked. I guess you can not have anyone else stand in you :-). Did you know you could add other people, characters to you Wii. I did not, the kids showed me how. So, Now I have Jesus Christ (The LORD),and Chuck Norris (Walker) watching. Now I will have to work out or ELSE!!!!.

Fitness Friday 2 Day

Been working with the Wii Fit program and Tying to control my food intake. The exercise is going great. Loving the Wii fit. This week I loss 2.2lbs, surprised! Felt so guilty because St Patrick's Day(week),Family Birthday Week and family pressing to eat out. All that Food, Calling Me.lol. Pizza was big on the family request. Believe they asked every day! Now how is one suppose to stay fit,I ask? Gave in 3 times this week! Guess I'll have to learn to hate Pizza. So,I won't want to eat so much of it. Just can not resist it. There will be no Pizza next week. Reading this Family?;-0 Do not ask:->
Any suggestion on pizza alternatives? Stay Healthy Minded.

A Workout With the Wii

Worked out on the Wii yesterday. Checked my Wii age,it was 4 years younger then me! The first time I started the Wii age was 14 years older. I think I am getting the knack of the Hula hoop. I had to put the Wii control on my waist. I still have issues with catching the hoops tossed. My Mimi does not move in sequence with me. I tried ski jumping. What a riot. Snowball express here I come. Good thing it isn't real,I'd be in traction for sure.LOL.
