Aloha Friday -Summer Projects

Summer will be here on the 21st of June. Our spring project (Vintage Sewing Room) will be finished by then and the summer ones will begin. We are in the process of preparing for the Shed cleaning out. Got a new one just for the Yard and Gardening stuff. So we will be collecting the items from the Work shed and Pool Shed. Organizing is the tool for being clean and Green. Been thinking about selling some things, so here is my question for you.

What is the best way to Sell used things? Is it by Yard sale, Ebay, Craig list, Newspaper or do you have another way?

Don't forget to check out An Island Life for more Aloha Friday questions. Kailani would love for you the stop by and link your Friday question. It's a lay back day in Hawaii, Let's Surf! no I'm not in Hawaii, but boy can I surf the net! There are some great surfer buddies out there.

  1. I've found that eBay works the best for me - Craigslist makes me nervous, because that requires a complete stranger to come to your house, and often the person who commits to buy something doesn't even show up. Even large items that can't really be shipped I'll list on eBay and specify that it's for 'local pickup only'. I've had great success with those. Yard Sales are great if you want to just get rid of a bunch of stuff that you don't care how much you get for them, because people don't want to pay top dollar at a yard sale. You make more money off eBay because people get into bidding wars. ;)

  2. I prefer a yard sale for used things. I usually have one with two or three friends and we have a blast while making some money. We take the money and have a girls night out.I don't really care for ebay too many fees involved. I use craigslist to sell concert or sporting event tickets only.

  3. we have a paper here called the Loot which is specifically designed for selling things and services and now has an online version as well, which i find can be easier than Ebay. yard sales aren't really popular over here, but car boot sales can be.

  4. Most people I know use eBay since yard sales are a lot of work and not always worth the effort. Good luck!

  5. I'm a Ebayer. I love it and have made some good money there in the past. I also am not a big fan of CraigsList due to scams and I'm not into strangers coming to my home either.
And with the post office picking up deliveries from your door for free and printing postage from home. It's a win win for me.

  6. Depends on the price point. Some stuff isn't worth listing on eBay and paying fees for. That's the yard sale stuff.

    Have a great day!

  7. We have a lot of stuff that I'd like to get rid of via yard sale, but that takes so much work. Maybe one day I'll post it on CraigsList or something to sell them.

  9. I used to eBay a lot. Then I tried yard sale, but after the experiences we had with yard sales I am back to eBay and Amazon auctions.

  10. I think Ebay gives you the biggest audience. Yard sales take work and newspapers cost more than the others.

  11. It depends on where you live. For me all of them works.

  14. It depends on what it is. Collectibles are better on ebay, but for regular items, yard sales work fine.

  16. I was interested in the question too. I have no idea but would understand why craiglist would be a good option because it doesn't have the fees and people do come pick up..but yea having a stranger at my house would freak me out.
